National Power has an immediate need for a dedicated Safety Specialist to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and procedures that protect our employees, project sites, and resources across backup power and renewable energy jobsites nationwide. Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develop and maintain comprehensive safety programs for technicians working on backup power systems (generators, UPS), in AC and DC power data centers, and on renewable energy installation sites (solar and EV)
Conduct regular field safety inspections and risk assessments
Help provide a safe work environment dedicated to electrical safety
Assist with and investigate safety related incidents and work with HSE team to ensure appropriate corrective actions are identified
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, LOTO, and other applicable regulatory requirements for backup power and renewable energy
Maintain safety documentation for permitting and compliance across multiple jurisdictions
Establish relationships with project and field managers to integrate safety protocols into the work culture
Work toward administering Worker’s Comp and Return to Work (RTW) programs working in tandem with Senior HSE Manager
Cross train and serve as back up on the administration of online safety platforms, including enrolling employees in safety training, running various safety related reports and other tasks as necessary
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, occupational safety, or related field is preferred (or related experience related to construction and field safety)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing unique safety challenges in a diverse work environment
Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
Excellent organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficiency with OSHA standards
Overnight travel required
Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of environmental compliance
Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations specific to backup power and renewable energy systems
Experience with implementation of safety culture through relationship building and coaching
Familiarity with LOTO, NFPA 70E, and OSHA requirements
Physical Requirements:
Capable of lifting and moving items up to 25 pounds
Clarity of vision
Sitting/driving for long periods may be required
Frequently required to use hand and finger dexterity (typing and use of tools)

Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive pay depending on previous experience and current certifications. We are a performance-based company and pay will ultimately reflect the employee’s productivity and overall performance
