Red Hat Principal Software Maintenance Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

Provide expert advice for developing, managing, and scaling applications built with the Red Hat AMQ (ActiveMQ and ActiveMQ Artemis), Red Hat AMQ Streams (Apache Kafka), Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat Openshift, Red Hat Interconnect, Red Hat Service Registry, Red Hat Debezium, Red Hat Camel and Red Hat Enterprise Application Platform.

*Telecommuting role to be performed anywhere in the U.S.

What You Will Do:

  • Produce well-researched, accurate, and prompt responses to developer-level technical issues, and analyze, troubleshoot, and reproduce problems.

  • Share knowledge with client’s customers by using developer-level experience to analyze or debug Java application issues at the language-level, such as code development, code review, and stack traces, own issues and provide outstanding customer service experience.

  • Develop test cases, patches for Red Hat’s software offerings, and examples to resolve customer issues.

  • Work together with the product engineer team to improve and fix bugs of the company solution portfolio.

  • Continuous upskill cutting-edge technologies, including those with whom CND products overlap frequently, such as Quarkus, Openshift Container Platform, Red Hat Linux, LDAP, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Java Virtual Machine and Jakarta Enterprise Edition.

  • Collaborate across multiple teams outside Support Delivery on initiatives which are aimed to improve product-customer-process-associate experience and deliver positive outcome.

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or related role.

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with Linux;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with the Red Hat Openshift Container Platform;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with AMQ;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with Red Hat Interconnect;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with Red Hat Fuse;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with Apache Camel;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with Java Development;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with LDAP;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with PKI;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with Jakarta Enterprise Edition;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with Java Virtual Machine;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with reading and writing code;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with solutions available for coding tests, new automations, and their advantages and disadvantages;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with leading and coordinating support and troubleshooting activities in production environment across multiple parties;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with representing company on technical calls or onsite visits within customer organization;

  • Must have four (4) years of experience with leading and coaching junior team members to build their technical understanding;

  • Must have two (2) years of experience with AMQ streams.

The salary range for this position is $151,986 - $207,530. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
