Job Description

As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will oversee the operations of the Test Department for manufacturing and testing Traveling Wave Tubes (TWT’s). This includes recording and approving daily time, actively participating in strategic meetings, and developing departmental standards. You will review and approve testing methods, assist in equipment evaluation, and ensure the efficient operation of the function by selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel. Additionally, you will coordinate training for Production personnel, monitor work orders and production processes, and make recommendations for procedural changes to improve efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • To manage the Test Department operations of manufacturing and testing Traveling Wave Tubes (TWT’s).

  • Record and approve daily time and attendance for Test personnel, as appropriate, per corporate policies.

  • Actively participate in activities/meetings with function leaders

  • Develops departmental standards and procedures.

  • Reviews and approves the testing and evaluation methods of testing TWT’s.

  • Assists in the evaluation decisions for purchasing test equipment.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Review and recommend changes and/or resolve technical issues and problems with existing products or new designs.

  • Coordinate training to Production personnel on all aspects of testing TWT’s, safety, corporate policies and work habits.

  • Ensure all Production personnel have a clear understanding of their expectations and the measurements used to gauge their performance.

  • Determine work schedules, overtime and allocation of resources and resolve problems as they occur.

  • Provide written and/or oral instructions, including, work procedures and work schedules.

  • Proactively monitor the status of work orders and production processes and direct employees, in such a manner, to ensure that all quality, cost objectives and On Time shipment goals are met or exceeded.

  • Make recommendations for changes or improvements to procedures and workflows to improve efficiency of employees or the quality and cost effectiveness of the products.

  • Monitor quality of all work to ensure that the highest standards are consistently followed and met.

  • Work with functional departments to schedule workloads and resolve or expedite issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical or business field is preferred

  • 5+ years experience in managing teams in an RF manufacturing environment

  • Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred

  • US Citizenship required in order to obtain and maintain a DOD secret clearance

Salary Range:

$74,800.00-$99,880.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
