Time Equipment Rental & Sales RC Master Technician IV in RAPID CITY, South Dakota

Description: With little or no supervision, the Technician IV performs maintenance and repair to all equipment in a highly skilled, safe and professional manner. This position requires an employee to possess a high degree of independent judgement.

Education/Formal Training: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Related maintenance experience is a plus. 3. Trade school training is preferred. 4. Manufacturer-sponsored training preferred. 5. Welding certification is a plus.

Years and Related-type Experience: 1. Minimum 18 years old. 2. Must own tools applicable to position. 3. Active applicable state class drivers license. 4. Five or more years of verifiable experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools that require mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions: 1.Tasks require handling and grasping with hands when performing repairs or maintenance using hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small parts. 2. Occasional use of foot pedals on equipment to test operations. 3. Exposure to loud noise, dust, gas, or fumes. 4. Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., and rare lifting of up to75 lbs. 5. Work in unprotected weather conditions. 6. Ability to wear hearing and eye protection as required.

  1. Ability to bend and kneel for extended

periods.

  1. Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least four hours per day.
  2. Ability to climb over and into heavy equipment multiple times per day.

Duties: 1. Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety procedures. 2. Foster positive customer relations through professional interactions. 3. Follow standard operating procedures. 4. Clean and maintain equipment. 5. Attend formal training sessions as required. 6. Load and unload equipment in compliance with DOT regulations for height, width, and weight, and assist customers in securing equipment to their vehicles. 7. Prepare new equipment for rental or sale. 8. Assist with equipment deliveries. 9. Conduct maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use, inspecting for damage, usage hours, tires, mileage, fuel levels, safety decals, and overall safety compliance. 10. Provide troubleshooting assistance toother technicians as needed. 11. Check out, familiarize, and demonstrate equipment to customers. 12. Pickup and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other locations for purchase and/or repair. 13. Maintain service vehicles in a clean and professional manner, ensuring the vehicle is always properly maintained. 14. Recognize and communicate the need for shop tools.

  1. Maintain paperwork documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basis as well as documentation of labor.
  2. Identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory.
  3. Using a high degree of independent judgement, responsible for the safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment and tools, which involve mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel and electrical systems.
  4. Assist in the training of junior technicians.
  5. Ability to diagnose all equipment in the rental fleet without supervision; ability to read, follow, understand, communicate schematics.
  6. As assigned, supervise, train and organize the work duties of other technicians in the department, maintain a productive workforce.
  7. When necessary and without supervision, accurately order needed parts using reference material as required, including communications with all necessary vendors and suppliers.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
