The Role

Proofpoint is looking for a Business Development Leader to enable the team to scale in line with company growth plans. Reporting to the Director of Business Development (EMEA), you will manage and grow a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs), delivering quality opportunities to the Sales team to drive new business pipeline.

Your day to day

  • Hire & train BDRs with a focus on delivering quality sales opportunities that progress to closed won business.

  • Exceed team targets by coaching BDRs on reactive lead follow up and proactive prospecting tactics.

  • Manage daily operations, ensuring a high energy environment with adherence to KPI metrics and best practice processes.

  • Coach BDRs on sales skills and the proficient use of business tools e.g. Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Drift and 6Sense

  • Liaise with marketing on upcoming campaigns, lead flow & quality, to ensure performance consistency.

  • Maintain a strong alignment with sales on GTM strategies, BDR performance and pipeline acceleration.

  • Report on team and individual metrics, providing recommendations to enhance processes and performance.

  • Sustain a culture of hard work, accountability and innovation for themselves and their team.

What you bring to the team

  • A team player with a positive attitude & cross-functional management skills

  • Effective communicator: tenacious, persistent and with the ability to influence.

  • Experienced Manager or Team Leader, with passion for training, coaching, mentoring, and developing talent.

  • Experience of hiring, training, and managing BDR teams to a high standard

  • Previous experience as a successful BDR, with a consistent track record of exceeding quota is beneficial.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while being adaptable to change.

  • Experience with information security, or SaaS industry preferred.

  • Fluent in English, and German languages is essential. Any additional languages are a plus.
