About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Non Nuclear Engineering Partner (NNEP) Delivery and Construction Framework. The Project Manager will be fully responsible for their packages of work and will work as part of an integrated Project Management team to deliver their part of a £150m facility for a long standing client.

The successful candidates will have previous experience of working in regulated industries and have prior experience delivering Mechanical and Electrical packages to a high standard of workmanship. The candidate will be responsible for organising and delivering all aspects of their work engaging with all disciplines including commercial, quality, engineering and construction to ensure their scope is delivered in accordance with the necessary standards and to project programme timelines.

The candidate will be flexible, knowledgeable, and willing and able to function both within the team and independently as required. The candidate will be required to work within the Reading area of the UK up to 5 days per week and be flexible to the project requirements.

This role requires management of “design and build” projects to provide facility improvements within an operational nuclear licensed site as part of a focussed programme of development, including:

  • Engagement with client and customer stakeholders.

  • Preparation and management of a package budget.

  • Work with engineering teams to take the detailed designs through the necessary design stage gates.

  • Create and manage tender process including tender evaluation and subcontract award.

  • Engage with in-house & external manufacturing and fabrication facilities.

  • Hold progress meetings with specialist subcontractors and record/report on a weekly basis.

  • Develop and present all reports, schedules, safety, and quality paperwork required.

  • Relay related contract administration information to the Senior Project Manager for review.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Degree or NVQ Level 6 (minimum) qualification in appropriate engineering or management subject.

  • A chartered level of qualification is desirable. Graduate or other post holders not meeting these criteria should provide evidence of working in programme and project environments.

  • SMTST qualification is desirable.

  • IOSH managing safety qualification is desirable.

  • CSCS black card is desirable.

  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as the APM or an engineering institution is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience and 10 years within the construction industry.

  • Evidence of experience within regulated industries.

  • Experience of managing cross-functional teams and engagement with engineering disciplines.

  • Understanding and experience of NEC contracts is required.

  • You should be a sole UK national with the ability to obtain SC (Security Clearance).
