Amazon Senior Financial Analyst, Project Kuiper FP&A in Redmond, Washington

Are you ready to get in on the ground floor of Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world?

It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Senior Financial Analyst to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, manufacturing and FP&A, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions, processes and controls.

As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will lead FP&A’s Month End Close (MEC) process where you will work across the entire Kuiper organization to Dive Deep into variances and leverage your superb communication skills to share insights to executive leadership to shape strategic decisions. You will own the planning and tracking of Kuiper’s headcount to provide financial controllership and support for Kuiper’s global expansion.

Key job responsibilities

-Own FP&A’s Month End Close (MEC) process from end to end ensuring variances are tracked down and insightfully explained to executive management (finance and business).

-Earn Trust across Kuiper and partner FP&A teams to learn the business.

-Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively. Challenge existing processes and Invent and Simplify to enable FP&A to scale with Kuiper’s ambitious global growth.

-Maintain Kuiper’s headcount, including planning and presenting to Kuiper CFO and administration of headcount tool.

-Develop ways to scale and automate existing HC tracking processes. Think big on solutions as we grow more internationally.

-Ad hoc analysis requests. Working with ambiguous data and turning it into insight and information.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

  • Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
