Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (contingent)
Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all projects meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and efficiency. • Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and products from concept to completion
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation to support Technical Data Package development
• Perform calculations and simulations to validate designs, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and reliability standards
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical engineers, manufacturing specialists, and project managers
• Conduct testing and analysis of prototypes, recommending improvements and modifications as needed
• Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure accurate translation of designs into production
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in existing products or systems,
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions,
• Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
• Adhere to the company’s AS9100 and quality policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively working towards licensure,
• Experience in industries such as aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing,
• Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques, including additive manufacturing,
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Masters degree is preferred.
• Substitutions: 5 years’ experience in mechanical design and engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA,
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems,
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is preferred,
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail,
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team,
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Secret security clearance is required.
