Shire Regional Business Director - Midwest in Remote, Illinois
Regional Business Director Endocrine - Midwest Region
Responsible for compliantly meeting and exceeding the corporate sales objectives for the assigned geography
Effectively managing the recruiting process for the sales team to ensure all hires of Regional Business Managers (RBM) exceed the criteria established for each position.
Effectively maintaining the performance of the sales team to ensure maximum performance is consistently achieved.
Ensuring the Basic Fundamentals of Selling (Targeting, Messaging, and Training) are consistently and effectively implemented with the team.
Helping ensuring sales team operates in a manner that is truthful and non-misleading, consistent with Shire compliance policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Effectively and compliantly collaborates with Patient Services
Effectively assesses the development needs of the sales team and ensures initiatives are implemented to address the training needs. Follow-up is critical to ensure performance is improved.
Responsible for effective leadership of the sales team that espouses corporate vision and supports the company values.
Deploy the sales team in accordance with the sales plan within the IM Franchise to maximize productivity consistent with corporate objectives of promoted products.
Manage the assigned budget
80%: Responsible for compliantly meeting and exceeding the corporate sales objectives. This includes, but is not limited to effective hiring of sales personnel, effective implementation of the fundamentals of selling and implementation of the IM Franchise marketing plan and ensuring sales team operates in a manner that is truthful and non-misleading, consistent with Shire compliance policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsible for effectively and compliantly collaborating with patient services and ensuring regional objectives are met or exceeded
20%: Effectively assesses the development needs of the sales team and initiates activity that will further develop the staff.
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a sales representative with demonstrated performance in specialty injectable sales and /or orphan drug
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical data and to develop strategic and actionable business plans
• Selling a product that is distributed through a specialty pharmacy
• Selling a product that requires extensive coordination with Patient Services
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead self and others either through direct or indirect people management
• 1-2 years’ experience as a sales manager preferred but not mandatory
