Shire Account Lead Genetic Diseases in Remote, Kazakhstan

Primary Role:

  • To work and connect with all involved national and local parties and arrange follow-up on treatment of patients with Shire products.

  • To promote our products as defined by the company, to healthcare professionals in relevant target groups in territory.

  • To maximize the business benefit, sales and profit, through the local implementation of Shire marketing strategy by organizing all necessary contacts and activities in collaboration with Marketing and Medical Affairs and within the agreed promotional and cost budget.

  • Participation/Lead in projects as defined by the national, regional or Business Unit management.

  • To perform daily calls to key targeted specialists at a given and approved by Manager frequency and in accordance with cycle time allocation

  • To organize and actively participate in special events, round tables and presentations on promoted products.

  • To participate in exhibitions, conferences and other medical community events, organized by local Health Care Authorities and/or third parties (i.e. noncommercial organizations etc), which may contribute to further development of professional level of physicians

  • Taking full responsibility for management of the target accounts – key regional clinics/hospitals.

  • Effective usage and report of promotional materials to the target audience of physicians according market strategy.

  • Fulfillment of administrative work at request of manager

  • Close work with primary care physicians to identify possible patients (patient finding process)

Responsibilities:

10% Proactive surveillance of pricing environment and support local team to maintain reimbursement within defined price range. Support HCPs to obtain individual patient level reimbursement

50% Opinion leader and Key account management in specialized treatment centers, support and leverage customer connectivity locally and internationally, Product promotion at scientific events.

10% Plan promotion with management of local investment budget, coordinate demand planning with local wholesaler. Plan and record activities

10% Obtain, share and leverage competitive market intelligence

20% Initiate and organize medical education activities to increase disease awareness and support product promotion.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Minimum:

  • University degree in Medicine/Biology/Chemistry/Pharmacy or equivalent

  • At least 3 years of sales experience in specialized prescription pharmaceutical business and hospital sector.

  • Excellent expertise on the Kazakhstan health care system

  • Fluency in Russian and Kazakh language

Desirable:

  • Experienced in Key Account and Hospital Management.

  • Commercial and marketing experience in pre-launch and launch activities with particular emphasis on hospital selling

  • Intimate knowledge of the Kazakhstan pharmaceutical industry’s code of conduct and compliance regulations

  • Existing contacts with specialists in relevant specialties treating rare diseases

  • IT skills (MS Office literacy minimum)

  • The person must decide on his own travel/visit plans in the territory and where to set priorities in customer support to achieve our goals.

  • Close interaction with management team.

Internal:

  • Reports to Business Lead Genetics

  • Regular contacts and exchange with colleagues in marketing and sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Finance, HR, occasional interaction with international BU

  • Interaction with national and international peers

External:

  • Key Opinion Leaders, hospital physicians and hospital staff at secondary care level

  • Local and national payer’s, i.e. at sick funds

  • Patient organizations and regional medical societies and meeting organizers.

  • Logistical Distributor

  • Hospital healthcare professionals and hospital management i.e. Finance/Procurement

Other Requirements

  • Driver’s license mandatory.

  • Able to undertake regular frequent travel by road including overnight stay.

  • Ability to travel locally and internationally as required.
