BUNZL EDI Analyst in Remote, Missouri

Description

Bunzl North America is seeking an EDI Analyst to join our team! The role can be based in St. Louis, MO or Chicago, IL.

The EDI Analyst is required to:

  • Handle the setup, creation, and implementation of existing EDI solutions to support Bunzl’s business objectives and priorities.

  • Work in a collaborative, team environment to configure and develop supporting tools for new and existing EDI transactions and integrations.

  • Be involved in the discovery, analysis, construction, testing, implementation, configuration, communications set up, and maintenance of EDI transactions based on trading partner’s business and technical requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient with customer and vendor EDI integrations using XML, X12, EDIFACT and other formats

  • Knowledge of customer and vendor integrations using AS2, HTTPS, SFTP, VAN and other communication protocols

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise with EDI Configuration and Data Mapping.

  • Identify and communicate the root-cause of issues and resolutions to internal stakeholders; coordinate and implement corrective action

  • Understand the need for continuous improvement with the ability to discover, recommend, develop, and implement best practices that produce repeatable and predictable results.

  • Identify root-cause of issues and recommend solutions, define business impacts, and implement solutions that best support the Bunzl internal stakeholders and trading partners

  • Strong project management skills: ability to prioritize and coordinate diverse tasks

  • Work directly with trading partners to clarify business issues, identify technical solutions, and complete integration.

  • Adheres to change control process and procedures.

  • Provides regular communications to IT management on the status of EDI projects.

System Knowledge:

  • Experience with EDI translation software (i.e. Gentran)

  • Background with IBM system i (AS/400)

  • Work product/solutions developed meet end user requirements, are documented, and implemented with no defects.

  • Experience working with 3 rd party tools like SPS Fulfillment, Ariba, Coupa, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in IT related study area or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years EDI experience

  • Developing and implementing X12 EDI distribution documents (including but not limited to 810, 820, 824, 845, 846, 850, 855, 856, 867, 875, 880, 894, 940, 945)

  • Understanding of data structures and data mapping

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office, O365

  • Must possess excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision

  • Distribution and Grocery Industry experience is a major plus – Order to Cash Process

  • Team oriented and self-motivated – quickly be able to grasp complex concepts

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate ideas effectively, to listen and to collaborate to arrive with solutions that achieve a strategic advantage for both Bunzl and our trading partners

  • Experience with Windows and iSeries Platforms
