PACCAR Inc. Technical Research Quality Lead/Trainer in Renton, Washington

Requisition Summary As a Technical Research Quality Lead/Trainer, you will work as a technical parts expert to identify and resolve dealer technical part issues, provide chassis-specific information, chassis data, illustration drawings, and solve high-visibility issues. You will lead the team through projects and initiatives focused on Vehicle Uptime and Customer Satisfaction. The Quality Lead/Trainer will collaborate with various levels of Supplier Management and OE Division Engineering to investigate quality issues, improve processes, and provide alternative options to drive customer UPTIME. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams across the supply chain at PACCAR Parts to ensure the accuracy of part information in ECAT, technical service bulletins and campaigns, and other online suite information. As a trainer, you will coordinate with the manager and supervisor all job-related training our Technical Research Specialist are required to complete in order to provide outstanding technical support to our dealers. In addition, you will coordinate training with our dealers to promote efficiency and reduce the number of cases submitted by dealers. This position can be based out of Renton, WA or Lewisville, TX. Job Functions / Responsibilities Act as elevated level of support between vendors and the Technical Research team members for high visibility issues and current trends to drive uptime. Liaise between dealers, suppliers, and various divisions and departments internal to PACCAR. Analyze research requests using bills of material, engineering drawings, vendor files, KnowledgeBase, Electronic Catalog, etc. to identify saleable replacement parts compatible with original truck systems. Conduct chassis analysis to validate the accuracy of customers' requests and create lists of part components that will be recommended to dealers in support of fleet uptime. Work cross-functionally with multiple departments within PACCAR creating improvements to existing tools and processes. Analyze truck configurations to validate dealer requests and use chassis information to determine required parts using bills of material, engineering diagrams, and technical truck knowledge. Provide detailed documentation to appropriate departments and division application teams on product trend issues and process improvements. Identify missing or inaccurate information in business support tools. Identify continuous improvement opportunities. Consult with division and aftermarket engineering on trends and field issues to identify solutions to customer issues. Identify internal training opportunities to improve Technical Research case response quality. Coordinates on-site training/support with manager and supervisor for Specialists that aligns training pipeline with the most current parts information and internal training methodology. Coordinates on and off-site training/support with manager and supervisor in support of our dealers' network that aligns training offered with the most current data driven requirements from our dealers. Opportunity to travel to our dealers, as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree, Technical Degree, or equivalent work experience preferred Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional work experience required; automotive diagnosing experience preferred Experience in Class 8 bill of materials and blueprint reading skills required Knowledge of Parts Online, ReportWeb, VOG, SQLServer, Chassis Viewer, AS400 desired Six Sigma Certification desired Bilingual (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) desired Ability to handle multiple tasks and produce high volume/high quality output Ability to work under limited supervision and able to make sound decisions under pressure Strong team-oriented, customer service and communication skills Strong PC skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Skills / Competencies Act
