The Opportunity:

The Senior Commercial Specialist is a member of the GS APAC MSP (Aero) Line of Business who will work closely with the Commonwealth of Australia to support contract management and supplier performance activities.

Reporting to the Team Lead, the Senior Commercial Specialist will be responsible for performing procurement and financial services to support Aerospace products within the Aerospace Systems Division, Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group and Department of Defence.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake procurement planning, tendering and contract management activities whilst ensuring compliance to legislation and procurement policies.

  • Provide clear direction, assistance and services relating to procurement policy issues and commercial, financial investigation and technical aspects in support of contract management outcomes.

  • Translate and apply legal principles, legislative and policy compliance obligations and critical commercial risk and performance requirements related to procurement and contract management.

  • Administration and process invoices for CoA approval to meet payment terms as per contract requirements.

  • Coordinate quotes and proposals through receipt and procurement for CoA approval.

  • Support the development of contract documents and tools, including gap analysis of contract changes and issues as they arise.

  • Support the management of contract deliverables and updates.

  • Support product financial management and associated activities for CoA approval.

    As the ideal candidate you will bring:

  • Previous experience in a Commercial Specialist role within a Defence environment

  • Well-developed communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Previous experience as a functional lead

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills

  • Ability to analyse and initiate priorities to drive successful outcomes

  • Willingness to share knowledge to the broader team members

  • AGSVA NV1 security clearance
