Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

Working within a large, clean warehouse you will be loading, unloading, moving and picking orders (tires) by hand and with the use of a Forklift, Order Picker and Clamp Truck. This is a fast paced environment and can require a large volume of heavy lifting when performing certain duties. All new employees training will start in receiving. Roughly 50% of the time they would be lifting products and the other 50% driving the forklift until they are familiar with tires.

Job Duties

• Pick and verify orders

• Unload/load containers and trailers

• Label pallets and shipments

• Sort and place tires on racks or shelves according to organizational standards

• Ensure packaging slip and bill of lading are duly signed before tires are shipped

• Inventory control, accuracy of recording data and understanding of basic computer skills

• Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed

• Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping racks, pallet area, and workstations clean

• Adhere to required safety standards by wearing the proper safety equipment and following proper safety protocols

• Assist in quarterly physical inventory counts

Hard Skills

• 3+ years of sit-down counterbalance and/or Stand up Order picker experience

• Forklift certification required

• Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment

• Proficient in basic computer skills

• Read and speak English effectively

• Previous experience in a warehouse with order picking is mandatory

• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs+ (could be 100+ times per day, some days 0)

• Reliable transportation

• Inventory experience

Soft Skills

• Strong work ethic

• Teamwork skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 640 Hour(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Richmond, British Columbia.

Work Environment

This is a labor-intensive, fast-moving environment. There are 10 employees in the warehouse, friendly, hardworking team. This is a very multicultural, family-type environment. Shift is Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5L00 PM, 1-hour lunch break, 15-minute breaks.
