Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in both electrical and mechanical domains. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, be adept at understanding production line interactions, and efficiently minimize downtime through accurate problem diagnosis and corrective actions. The role requires assisting in equipment setup/changeover, preventative maintenance, and light fabrication tasks.
Responsibilities
Perform mechanical maintenance and service for various types of production equipment, including filling, labeling, milling, polishing, and blending systems.
Maintain and service facility systems such as air compressors, refrigeration systems, domestic and waste water systems.
Assist in the setup and/or changeover of production line equipment as needed.
Conduct light fabrication tasks using tools like Bridgeport mills, lathes, band saws, and welding equipment.
Perform general production equipment repair and facility upkeep, including air piping, PVC piping, building maintenance, and painting.
Provide general facilities support, such as snow removal, fire system testing, and wastewater startup/shutdown.
Diagnose root causes of equipment issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance work.
Repair and service heat tunnels, capping/sealing equipment, filling equipment, conveyor systems, vision inspection machines, and other manufacturing equipment.

Work Environment
This position operates in a very clean work environment where the company manufactures slides, cassettes, and petri dishes for hospitals and labs dedicated to cancer diagnostics. The work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with the potential to work as late as 8:00 PM. On-call duties may be required based on staffing needs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
