FORT BEND COUNTY DEPARTMENT: ELECTIONS/VOTERS REGISTRATION JOB TITLE: TEMPORARY ELECTIONS CLERK

JOB SUMMARY: Provides support to Elections department with specific responsibilities unique to department to provide effective and productive results. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for the department.

This is a TEMPORARY POSITION, up to 90 days duration, and there are no benefits included.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the department with Voter Registration Forms and mail-in ballots. Answers telephone calls and responds to inquiries and/or directs to proper person. Processes incoming and outgoing mail. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED. Good computer and typing skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials. Bilingual preferred, but not required. Availability to work typical business hours, Monday through Friday, 8-5; however, hours are flexible as needed.

SALARY: $13.00 per hour, Up to 40 hours per week as needed

DURATION: Assignment is up to 90 days maximum. Hours and days will vary based on need.
