Oracle GDI- Government, Defense & Intelligence has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Cloud Solution Engineering

This is hybrid position based in the VA/DC area.

As a Director, Cloud Solution Engineering, you will be responsible for providing leadership and development to the Cloud Engineering Solutions Technical team. This includes delivering pre-sales technical and functional support to prospective mission customers. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Shape task order proposal requests, RFIs, Market Surveys. Collaborate with Sales, Business Development, and Consulting teams to position Oracle Cloud solutions to drive bookings and consumption. Manage senior, principal and master principal level cloud solutions engineers throughout the sales cycle. Provide technical/functional leadership, guidance, and management to drive cloud pipeline, sales, adoption, deployment, consumption, and continuing cloud services burn. Actively owns specific initiatives within the account planning and strategy development cycle. May publish technical information in technical articles, blogs, webinars. Works with management to define new products. Serves as the company liaison on specific technical projects with customers

Responsibilities

The requirements for this team spans Engineering, Development, Sales Consulting, and Post Sales Delivery:

  • Development: Designing, developing, and coding solicited/unsolicited bespoke cloud solutions for Intel/Space/LE customers drives Task Order Proposal Request (TOPR) creation targeted specifically to Oracle Cloud. These bespoke solutions are potential deliverables for SIs. They may also be demos reusable across GDI Towers. Enabling our SI ecosystem with differentiated cloud solutions scales GDI’s sales reach to compete effectively with rival CSPs (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Sales Consulting: TOPR-shaping involves targeted TEMS, presentations, webinars, blog posts, white papers, (SI) bidders packages and other technical sales-enabling collateral.

  • Post Sales Delivery Implementation: Post-booking, cloud burn requires targeted delivery of proposed cloud solutions. This requires designing, developing, and coding cloud solutions in conjunction with on-boarding GDI teams and GDI Consulting Services. Enabling continuous and additional cloud burn requires delivery of initial designs, new designs, development, and coding of relevant cloud solutions.

From pre-sales to post-sales, the Director, Cloud Solution Engineering is required to support a comprehensive engineering effort through direct hands-on development to include coding, configuration, testing, deployment within a structured Software Development Lifecycle. This will involve coding (e.g., Java), integration with issue tracking (e.g., JIRA), integration with code repositories (e.g., GitHub), integration with IaC build tools (e.g., Terraform) all within a DevOps environment.

You must be a high-energy, strategic and technical authority leader possessing strong task prioritization abilities, with a performance-based track record of success.

You will have demonstrated successful expertise with a cloud product technology company. You will be technically adept, possessing a broad combination of skills and experiences reflecting the complexities of Oracle and Oracle’s customers.

  • Minimum of 8 years leading and building a team of technical pre-sales solution Engineers with demonstrated success.

  • Must have a minimum 5+ years working with the Federal Government, preferably DOD.

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent.

  • Advanced degree in Systems Engineering or Computer Science is highly preferred.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $161,600 to $270,900 per annum. May be eligible for equity and compensation deferral. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 60/40.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
