Cognizant Lead Python Developer (Hybrid) in Richmond, Virginia

Lead Python Developer (Hybrid)

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead developer to join the team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Python stack, design patterns, and microservices. This role encompasses leadership responsibilities, including different development enterprise level web applications. By ensuring robust and efficient system operations, the candidate will play a key role in advancing our company’s mission.

Location: Richmond or McLean, VA - USA.

Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.)

The Onsite position must be at the office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Designing Enterprise Solution using Python and related Python Technology stack.

  • Work on Design Patterns, develop highly scalable enterprise-level web applications and RESTful APIs using Micro Services, and REST API implementations.

  • Demonstrate strong design and programming skills using JSON, Web Services, XML, XSLT, PL/SQL.

  • Effective Client communication.

  • Lead a team of 6-10 members.

  • Knowledge in AWS is required.

  • Kafka, MongoDB, SQL.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree or an equivalent 8+ years of IT experience in implementing Python and related Python technologies.

  • Gained experience in Design Patterns, experience in implementing Microservices, and proficiency in Advanced SQL.

  • Good exposure and dynamic experience working on AWS Cloud and integrations.

  • Strong hands-on experience using Docker, experienced in using GIT and Maven, and good with CI/CD – Jenkins.

  • Good written, verbal communication and documentation skills.

  • Familiar with Agile delivery process, must be analytical and self-motivated, and work effectively within a distributed team environment.

  • AWS certification is plus.

Salary and compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $81,337K – $141K depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
