Operations Manager, Digital Solutions, DLA On-Site

Iron Mountain’s Digital Solutions team helps lead customers along their Digital Transformation journey. The imaging operations convert physical documents into digital assets and also extract data from digital content to support customer’s business processes. The Manager of Digital Solutions is responsible for all aspects of the imaging operations, providing leadership to large teams, ensuring excellent service to customers, and managing financial performance.

This position will be responsible for overseeing all Iron Mountain Teams working On-Site at Government in support of a newly awarded contract for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).

Position Highlights

  • This position will require 40% traveling to different project sites

  • Only US Citizens are eligible for this specific contract, hence for this position, Iron Mountain will consider only US Citizens.

  • Identified Candidate must be able to pass a tier 3 security clearance

Key areas of responsibility

Leadership

  • Lead over 250 employees in single or multiple locations

  • Direct management of supervisors

  • Develop and/or lead programs to maximize employee engagement and satisfaction

  • Communicate and interact with employees to optimize task performance while maintaining a high level of morale.

  • Indirect leadership across multiple functional areas within Iron Mountain

  • Lead and/or participate initiatives within and across business lines

  • Ability to develop, motivate and grow a strong team

  • Creating presentations and communicating with leadership about plans and strategies

Customer support

  • Accountable for service delivery across a large portfolio of customer projects and programs

  • Develop relationships with key customers and serve as point of escalation

  • Provide expertise and support to the sales team in pursuit of new opportunities or growing existing relationships

Operations management

  • Accountable for the safety of the work environment, processes, and equipment.

  • Plan capacity based upon expected productivities for each phase of the operation

  • Manage workload to meet workloads, goals, and guidelines consistent with the Facility’s profit objectives.

  • Ensure all work is performed by the specified turnaround time

  • Continuously review areas of responsibility to increase productivity and improve efficiency.

  • Ensure that measurable “standards & expectations” for each position in departments are written and updated frequently

  • Ensure process and procedures are in place to ensure Iron Mountain security policies and controls are met related to imaging

  • Maintain proper DR process and procedures for the imaging environment

  • Identifying problems and coming up with effective solutions quickly

  • Identifies trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution.

  • Responsible for employee safety, security of the building, equipment, and grounds.

Financial Performance

  • Accountable for financial results of a budget that exceeds $10M in annual revenue

  • Develop financial forecasts based upon established pricing, operational metrics, staffing, equipment, and facilities costs

  • Manage financial performance of market by partnering with the Regional Finance Manager and Director of Business Support to analyze trends and monitor P&L.

  • Develop and execute appropriate plans to achieve targets based on current performance and forecasted trends.

  • Work with leadership to develop gap plans to minimize risk of missing financial objectives.

  • Develop and execute initiatives to maximize financial results

  • Approval authority for pricing proposals impacting assigned market(s).

Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:

  • Government Security clearance - Secret

  • 10+ years of operations leadership, preferably overall imaging operations or comparable high-volume transactions operations.

  • Extensive customer relationship management experience

  • Extensive understanding of the DoD.

  • Excellent knowledge of operations management, workflow management software, and capacity planning

  • Experience leading within a matrix management organization preferred

Leadership: Ability to provide active/hands on leadership over all aspects of Iron Mountain’s business lines in assigned markets. Ensure Iron Mountain’s core values are upheld throughout the market. Proven experience in setting strategy, vision, tone, and culture for the Market that are in line with the Regional goals. Demonstrated ability in driving initiatives and new products/services within market.

Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial statements and how to use the data to make business decisions. Analyze activity trends and pipelines to forecast activity and labor requirements. Understand the impact of price and deal structure on the bottom-line.

Decision Making: Ability to provide quality of service and tradeoff between performance, economics and profitability. Demonstrated success in handling various situations such as: Customer Related Issues, Service Issues, market issues and Human Resources Issues. Solid understanding and proven ability to lead/manage profitability performance of market and making changes to ensure success.

Problem Solving: Proven ability to understand customer challenges and work with operations and sales teams to develop win-win solutions. Ability to adjust strategic plan and change course in the event key goals may be missed.

People/Team Development: Demonstrated ability to implement development plans that result in the growth of employee skills and abilities. Track record of preparing employees for promotion, taking on additional responsibility and leading teams to greater levels of performance and success. Skilled at succession planning.

Nature of Impact: Solid understanding and proven ability of increasing performance through leveraging of labor, driving price and driving growth. Ability to drive top line revenue and bottom line profit. Must have ability to communicate all products and services to internal and external customers.

Reasonably expected salary range: $71,300.00 - $89,100.00
