Job Summary and Qualifications
Complies with MRI safety guidelines for patient and self, utilizes protective equipment when appropriate. Ensures patient safety by screening for contraindications such as, but not limited to, cardiac pacemakers, sheet metal fragments, shrapnel, jewelry, wallet, metal prosthesis, etc.
Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations.
Operates MRI scanner safely and competently under the direct supervision of a registered MRI technologist.
Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner and always identifies patients utilizing the proper protocol.
Prepares examination rooms for MRI procedures. Monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation and maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance.
Assist in administration of contrast agents with supervision by a registered MRI Technologist.
Reviews each exam for technical identifies anatomical orientation on all images with assistance of registered MRI Technologist.
Demonstrates willingness to assist in additional duties.
Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients.
Completes and maintains educational requirements.
