The National Security Sector at Leidos has an opening for an Electronic Engineer to support work in our Ridgecrest, CA office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your production, manufacturing, and leadership skills to support the Navy's Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR) mission. In this mission we provide engineering support for design, modification, and maintenance of ground radar and associated devices for the Navy's aircrew Electronic Warfare (EW) training capability. Our organization designs, manufactures, integrates, and provides depot level support for a wide variety of EW threat simulation systems that are part of the training infrastructure that ensures our Navy aircrews are the most effective in the world.

This position will be based in Ridgecrest, California requiring approximately 25% travel. Estimated travel is between one and two weeks at a time approximately 5 times a year to geographically disperse sites associated with the Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR). These training ranges are located primarily located at Cherry Point, NC, Fallon, NV, Yuma, AZ and Pacific Beach, WA.

Primary Responsibilities

The Electronic Engineer works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors employed in open-air radar simulators. The EE normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new or more complex assignments. The EE is responsible for the detailed design and schematic capture of the electronic circuits. Ensures that PCB and/or MIC layout design meets design requirements. You will develop, executes and report on design verification tests and prototype tests. Provides support and guidance for the development of automated methods for sub-system testing. The Electronic Engineer is responsible for the release of the engineering design package to the production configuration management system. Selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Will network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. The position is part of a high-performance engineering team, working on complex open-air radars and radar simulators. The EE leverages emerging technologies in conjunction with proven concepts to evolve and modernize radar simulators components. Will provide technical support for DOD Tactical Training Ranges in a broad capacity including problematic system repairs, system upgrades and modernization (to address obsolescence), and integration/installation support for various Range instrumentation systems. Design, Test, and Integrate Digital & Analog Circuit Cards. Responsible for upgrading complex military radar systems at various navy ranges. Analyze, Test, and Repair newly built as well as inoperable Circuit Board Assemblies. Design Electrical Circuits to satisfy system requirements implementing analog and digital solutions including Op-Amps, ADCs, FPGAs and Microprocessors. Develop Factory Acceptance Tests for newly built Electrical Systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field with 8 or more years' experience.

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.

  • Must have experience in the Design, Test, and Integration of Digital & Analog Circuit Card Assemblies.

  • Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

  • Requires ability to work in a flexible team environment and deliver timely, high-quality results.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
