In these key roles, you’ll come in to help us exceed productivity goals and deliver against our customer promises. For our busy Stations, we’re seeking for an exceptional Manager to come and make their mark. These fast-moving facilities sit at the heart of Amazon’s rapidly growing Operations network, and are where we manage our fast-moving first mile operation. In each delivery, our teams receive, sort, stow, and ship orders to the customer.

In the Station that you join, you will coordinate and oversee a hugely important environment within our business. Our Delivery Stations work as smart as they can to continuously delight our valued customers with their products: our top-line vision is to remove all effort on behalf of our end-users, while continuing to exceed everyone’s expectations whenever we can.

With this in mind, you’ll lead Under-The-Roof and On-The-Road execution encompassing to Delivery Service Partners, and Drivers on route and develops strategies and plans to streamline these operations. Leads a team of 5 supervisors and +40 Associates, being the owner of solving complex problems and making key decisions and escalations on behalf of their team. Fosters a Culture of Safety. Be responsible for protecting service levels monitoring and improving drivers and associates performance. Assembles the right team, assigns the tracking strategy, and controls the operation to ensure timely and successful First Mile delivery. Peer with Shift managers and assisting the Site leadership which will complement your proactive management of healthy, positive working relationships on a day-to-day basis.

In addition, some of the most important aspects of your job are to:

-Lead change at speed, innovation has made us the global company that we are today.

-Help in daily operations: Receive, scan, lift and move shipments up to 20 kg each.

-Route shipments within the AMZL coverage area.

-Support and assign job duties to process assistants.

-Due to the nature of Amazon’s business, being able to adapt to sudden changes and growth according to operational necessities.

-Track & monitor sorting operation and dispatch.

Key job responsibilities

  • Managing an environment concerning the collection of Amazon orders direct to our customers, subject to ever rising volume and complexity, operating on a 24/7 basis.

  • Overseeing the operation that focuses on the delivery of Amazon orders direct to customers.

  • Peering and leading with multiple teams of Process Assistants, Supervisors, Warehouse associates and Delivery service providers and delivery associates.

  • Managing day-to-day relationships with multiple Delivery Service Providers (DSPs).

  • Driving operational goals and metrics for your Delivery Station. Planning and executing plans and actions with the team and stakeholders and success partners.

  • Presenting operational metrics regularly to the senior leadership team.

  • Problem-solves for closing gaps between performance and goals.

  • Hires and develops top talent. Creates and implements a talent plan for the site including talent acquisition, performance and career management, learning and development, succession planning, and employee engagement.

  • Works with key business partners such as WHS, PXT, ACES, DSP Management, First Mile, Middle Mile, Finance, Loss Prevention, IT, Lastmile Programs, Procurement, Environment and Process Engineering.

  • Review the operational forecast and determine productivity requirements the deliver station.

  • Provide day-to-day support during the rollout/implementation of newer systems/processes and gather feedback.

  • Manage a team group to meet all building’s goals.

  • Support all safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all associates and Delivery service providers.

  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • You will be part of the Amazon Logistics Team, responsible of the day-to-day management of the delivery station, overseeing the operation that focuses on the delivery of Amazon orders direct to customers.

  • Leading a team of Process Assistants, Warehouse associates and Delivery Service Providers in daily management of the delivery station, including meetings, training sessions, assigning job duties, and communicating internally and externally with stakeholders.

  • You are responsible for ensuring that you have a safe work place, properly trained people, and that their needs are addressed so they can focus on their jobs.

A day in the life

This manager will be responsible for key metrics include, but are not limited to: Safety Metrics, PXT metrics, On-The-Road Metrics, Under the Roof Metrics, Environment and Cost Metrics including lead Savings projects.

About the team

Responsible for goals in an area where the strategy may not yet be defined. Establishes workflows, SLAs, and operational excellence mechanisms at the site. Sets the standard for effective Delivery Station management and is well versed in industry practices and technologies. Has a deep understanding of the business priorities and customer needs, and can proficiently translate those needs into the right solutions. Brings Operations perspective to decision making with strong business acumen (understands contribution to the business and partners with finance for cost-benefit analyses). Broad experience across functional and technical areas, designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of employee and performance management experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience

  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

  • 2+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience

  • 2-3 years of general experience in Warehousing and distribution centers operations background

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in project management
