Job Title: Commercial HVAC Technician
Job Description
As a Commercial HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for performing HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings. You will conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts, disassemble and assemble components, and make necessary repairs. You will work with various HVAC systems including split systems, packaged rooftops, heat pumps, and more. Your role will also involve completing electronic documentation daily, operating a company vehicle for service calls, and working both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Perform assigned HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings.
Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of commercial HVAC equipment as needed.
Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components.
Service, diagnose, and troubleshoot various types of split systems, packaged rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, pneumatic, electrical control systems, and other mechanical equipment.
Use HVAC skills and experience to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium to large sized complex heating and cooling systems and associated control systems.
Complete required electronic documentation daily on a handheld device.
Work independently, and as part of a team, to complete assigned tasks within an allotted time frame.
Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory.
Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
Essential Skills
5 or more years of experience repairing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC/R equipment.
EPA universal certification.
Experience with RTU, air handlers, split systems, chilled water or boiler systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 10 certification preferred.
Experience maintaining boilers - 100 ton units.
Must be able to pass MVR check.

Work Environment
Shift/Hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, with 50-60 hours during busy summer periods. Some weeks will consist of 4 - 10 hour days. The work environment involves servicing industrial and commercial properties, varying from client to client, including working on roofs and being exposed to various climate conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
