Benchmark Electronics Incoming Inspector I in Rochester, Minnesota

Summary: Incoming Inspector performs visual, mechanical and electrical inspection on parts, electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies from vendors, customers and other Benchmark sites for compliance with applicable drawing and quality standards and specifications. Fosters divisional teamwork within a continuous improvement environment. Approves incoming materials by confirming specification requirements, conducting visual and measurement tests, accepting acceptable materials/rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Responsibilities: * Works from Receiving packaging documentation and various internal documents to verify that the receipt of incoming material is compliant with specifications * Performs various inspection activities on electronic and mechanical parts, electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies for proper markings and other various quality requirements * Inputs data into the Data Collection System * Checks configuration on all assemblies * Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering, as appropriate * Follows and maintains accurate process documentation and recommend improvements based on pertinent data * Utilizes optical and measurement equipment to determine the acceptability of components sub-assemblies, etc. * Provides inspection disposition and direct appropriate material control (reject/quarantine or stock) * Conducts regular inspection tasks on incoming materials by confirming specification requirements and conducting visual and measurement tests. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally. * Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. * Normally receives detailed instructions on all work Other information: * 0-2+ years of electronics inspection experience * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Effective interpersonal skills * Effective multi-tasking skills and the ability to take on additional responsibilities as required * Effective organization, prioritization and time management skills * Demonstrate high attention to detail * Demonstrate discretion, confidentiality and professionalism when representing the company * Ability to work overtime when needed * Ability to work with and train diverse groups * Participate in a continuous improvement activity Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Geographical Location: Minnesota:Rochester Physical Location: Rochester, MN Shift: Shift 1 Work Schedule: M-F 0800-1600 Full Time Export Control: This job position may include access to controlled information or technology covered under applicable U.S. export control laws.
