Reasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking candidate professionals, preferably with previous experience working with eating disorders, trauma, substance use and LGBTQIA+ communities, to provide compassionate care to our diverse patients in our residential treatment facilities located in beautiful, intimate six-bed houses in the Pasadena, San Marino and the Arcadia neighborhoods of the Los Angeles area, and our Reasons inpatient/partial hospitalization eating disorder programs at BHC Alhambra Hospital.
Job Description: The Yoga Instructor is responsible for teaching patients the practice of yoga poses, breathing and meditation. Yoga is a universal practice. Yoga supports patients in connecting with mind, body and soul. Yoga serves the purpose of teaching a positive relationship with the body, breathing techniques as a way of connecting with the body versus being disconnected with the body and meditation to promote mindfulness skills.
Requirements:
Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in activity therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a Yoga Instructor. Trauma-informed yoga training highly preferred.
Licensure: Preferred certification by State of California. Must maintain a valid California driver's license.
