Salary Range $18.50-$22.00 NO WEEKENDS We are look for a dedicated person with excellent communication skills to communicate with family and pharmacies outside our operation. You will spend your time with both the clinical and administrative areas, assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, and organizational tasks. You will provide information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from all the clinical services. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Refill medications Prior Authorizations for medications Completion of medical forms (FMLA, DMV, Workers Comp, etc) Returning patient phone calls and web messages Documenting patient phone/web encounters Fulfills patient care responsibilities assigned Clerical responsibilities as assigned that may include sending/receiving patient medical records; completing forms/requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; updating charts to ensure that information is complete and filed appropriately. Achieves organizational responsibilities as assigned including respecting/promoting patient rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisor. Complete clinical projects assigned by supervisor Other duties as assigned. Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) Medical assistant diploma from an accredited vocational institution, or a community college course in medical assisting preferred. Experience: Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office. Minimum one year experience with an EMR Other Requirements: Current documentation of a national certification for the registered medical assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or for the certified assistant through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Must possess a current CPR certification and current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).
