Job Summary
The Purchasing Internship will support the overall corporate purchasing function, including data management and analytics, product forecasting, interfacing with mill and mini-mill vendors and liaising with purchasing and sales staff in the branches. The Purchasing Intern is responsible for various assigned tasks within the purchasing department, as well as other related projects, as needed.
Job Responsibilities
Work closely with corporate purchasing team and other departments and plants to support effective forecasting and purchasing strategies for Kloeckner Metals
Attending and participating in meetings, workshops, and various team projects
Updating documents and records
Identifying potential weaknesses and offering improvement suggestions
Keeping a log of everything learned and delivering final internship presentation to staff and other stakeholders
Working closely with the Manager or assigned staff member and completing all allocated tasks
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Pursuit of a college degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or similar
Currently enrolled rising junior or senior (during internship program) and in good academic standing in an accredited 4-year college or university
Strong analytical problem-solving skills
Superb interpersonal skills
Strong self-motivation
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
A professional appearance
