About New Mexico Military Institute: NMMI is a state-supported, co-educational college preparatory high school and junior college, complete with Junior and Senior ROTC programs. With a Corps of Cadets numbering up to 1000 young men and women, NMMI provides an accredited college preparatory curriculum on the high school level and is currently developing a new middle school. *Position: Under the direction of the Director of Athletics or their designee, the GAC Coordinator /Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for oversight and execution of various physical fitness and conditioning programs; requires the ability to teach HPER and activity classes as assigned, as well as assists with Athletics Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning with team, group, and individual training for NMMIs sports teams. This is a 12-month, full-time, exempt position. The salary range is $46,000.00 to $48,000.00. The job description is available upon request.]{lang="EN"}*

Tasks:

  • Oversight of Godfrey Athletic Center operations.
  • Develop and execute the Corps Physical Fitness program in accordance with current training philosophies and modalities.
  • Develop and coordinate the Prep Physical Fitness program per the needs of the cadets academy. Including knowledge of service academies physical testing and training protocols (PT/CFA).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills:

  • Ability to demonstrate exercise and drill techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate and coach the Olympic lift variations.
  • Ability to create and maintain safe and efficient training environments for all cadets.
  • Ability to teach in traditional and non-traditional class settings.

  • Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited program.
  • Two years of related experience.
  • Must obtain a CSCS or SCCC certificate within 6 months of hire.
