Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Plant Controller . This is a hands-on individual contributor position to start with scope for growth.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with site and functional leadership teams. Drive clear, consistent narrative on product and facility performance (past, present, and future).

  • Responsible for all plant-related financials (balance sheet and P&L). Preparation/oversight of plant operating expenses, allocation models, standard costs, capital expenditure, and inventory.

  • Provides relevant, accurate, and timely communication of financial performance. This includes execution/oversight of month-end closing and preparation of quarterly forecasts and budgets (annual and long-range plans).

  • Develop and execute action plans to drive profitable growth, including developing financial models related to providing contract manufacturing support to internal and external partner organizations.

  • Identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement (both financial and operational). Improves financial performance through analysis, mentorship, and accountability. Achieves committed financial results for KPIs, including manufacturing variances, operating income, cash flow, capital investments, and value improvement projects.

  • Develop and maintain standard financial processes for management of the facility.

  • Develop, maintain, and promote strong internal controls in conjunction with accounting policies.

  • Inventory Management: Partner with supply chain to optimize inventory turnover, minimize carrying costs, and minimize excess and obsolete inventory. Review annual physical inventory and/or cycle-count program to ensure accuracy.

  • Lead standard cost maintenance and variance analysis: Establish and maintain bills of material, product routings, material, labor, and overhead costs. Ensure that financial assumptions related to labor, material, and overhead are reasonably accurate and that desired margins are being pursued.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting

  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.

  • Plant controller experiencerequired

  • Background in standard costing, budget management and capital analysis and control.

  • Experience in a global, diverse matrixed organization.

  • Advanced expertise in Hyperion and SAP

  • Minimum 10 – 15 years (w/o Masters) or 8 – 12 years (with Masters) of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience working with Lean concepts and tools is preferred.

  • Well-versed in integrating financial and business narratives

  • Ability to clearly articulate narrative and share with business partners at multiple levels of the organization

The base salary range for this role is $144,700 to $180,900. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
