Job Description

U.S. Bank is hiring a premier talent to lead the finance function for our Global Corporate Trust & Custody (GCTC) business. As a member of the U.S. Bank Finance organization, this Director role leads all aspect of business segment for GCTC. By providing strong leadership to the GCTC Finance team and delivering exceptional financial capabilities, this role plays a key role in the success of the GCTC business. The position operates with a significant degree of autonomy and interacts directly with the senior level executives, including the Co-Heads of the GCTC business.

Primary Responsibilities

The Finance Director will manage all aspects of finance for the GCTC business. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, as well as annual plan, with a high degree of complexity and accuracy, including sophisticated incorporation of interest rate and trust & custody industry dynamics.

  • Produce monthly financial reports with a focus on trends, variances, profitability, and performance measurement.

  • Partner closely with GCTC executive management, Treasury, Operations, Risk, Controllers, and other partners to manage financial performance, develop business projections, and calibrate deposit appetite and pricing.

  • Create profitability analyses and financial models as needed. Perform analysis and reporting for large projects, including capital expenditures.

  • Manage a team of Finance Managers and Finance Analysts, providing hands-on leadership and coaching to staff. Duties include talent acquisition, training, performance appraisals, delegating assignments, and oversight of work.

  • Provide written and verbal presentations to appropriate levels of management.

  • Manage the GCTC Finance Organization’s risk environment effectively and in accordance with all bank governance and project management policies, including administration of stress testing requirements and end user controls (EUCs).

Skills and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience

  • 13 or more years of relevant financial management experience

  • Five or more years of management experience

  • Executive presentation experience

  • Considerable knowledge of accounting/finance principles

  • Advanced planning and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills and comfort interfacing with all levels of management

  • Expert MS Excel and financial modeling skills, including ability to effectively train staff

  • MBA or CPA preferred

  • Experience with Essbase and SQL considered a plus

  • The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $145,180.00 - $170,800.00 - $187,880.00
