Oracle Principal - Cabling & Low Voltage Supplier Manager in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Job Description

The Principal - Low Voltage & Cabling Supplier Manager will be responsible for building and expanding the partnerships and programs with key strategic suppliers who support the cabling and low voltage work required to delivery capacity in OCI's data centers worldwide. This role will be responsible to ensure OCI partners with suppliers who maximize quality, timeliness, cost effectiveness, region reach, and reliability to deliver capacity on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all low voltage and cabling vendors, both domestic and international

  • Negotiate rates, contracts, short term and long term commitments with suppliers

  • Establish Vendor Performance Management Program for consistent performance monitoring across all low voltage suppliers

  • Program Manage monthly and quarterly business reviews to review vendor performance

  • Conduct competitive analysis of suppliers, cost models, market analysis and supply chain alternatives

  • Provide ongoing monitoring and oversight to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of suppliers

  • Recommend and qualify new suppliers that meet both partner, competitive cost and product standards

  • Project Manage new vendor onboarding and/or new hardware product onboarding

  • Partner with Business Operations to forecast and optimize capex spend associated with suppliers

  • Oversight or advising on ad-hoc strategic initiatives at the request of Oracle executive management

  • May be responsible to work with procurement teams to ensure collection of supplier disputes

Required qualifications

  • Organization and ability to communication proactively across multiple organizations

  • Strong Program Management/Project management experience

  • Experience building a vendor performance management program

  • Experience with using data to create quantitative measurement programs

  • Experience negotiating and having tough conversations with vendors

  • Comfortable escalating when needed

  • Ability to identify when projects are/aren’t on track and how to course correct proactively

  • Experience communicating with engineering and technical teams

  • Experience with process improvement

  • Experience generating executive level dashboards & readouts

  • Ability to drive new program buildout with limited direction

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Seven years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.
