Oracle Software Developer 4 in Saint Paul, Minnesota
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in low-level systems software, especially in virtualized environments.
This position requires a strong understanding of low-level Linux kernel internals, including memory management and device drivers for peripherals and buses. The right candidate will have the ability to debug complex problems and analyze performance and scalability across a variety of configurations and workloads, with a focus on QEMU/KVM performance.
Solid understanding of PC architecture (x86 and ARM): CPU, memory, I/O subsystem, and interconnectivity buses is a strong plus. Prior experience with SoC, GPU, DPU, microarchtiectures, NVMe over fabric, live migration, SRIOV/VFIO, paravirtualization, VDPA, SmartNICs and embedded systems, is a plus.

Excellent knowledge of OS kernel internals, including memory management and device driver architecture.
Strong background in computer architecture and virtualization (experience with one or more of Qemu/KVM, Xen, HyperV)
Development experience working on low-level, performance-critical software
5 - 12+ years’ experience designing, developing, and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
Strong knowledge of C, C++, Java, Go or Rust and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Working familiarity of networking protocols (L2/L3/L4) and standard network architecture.

Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position.
