Savage Coordinator -Transload Customer Service in Salem, Oregon

The successful candidate will provide all data entry into financial and rail related systems that will provide timely and accurate information for Team Leader review.

Pay Range; $18.00 to $24.00 per hour

  • Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:30AM-3:00PM

    What you will be doing

  • Manages customer orders and inventory systems

  • Answer phones and assisting with customer needs

  • Enters customer orders and railcar shipments in inventory and have verified prior to railcar/truck arrivals by another employee

  • Faxing/emailing of Bill of Ladings to customers and designated parties (as required)

  • Prepares documentation for truck arrivals and departures (Bill of Lading, Truck Arrival Checklist)

  • Contacts carriers to schedule pick up times for outside carriers and informs customers if delivery will be late

  • Preparing load schedule for next day's loads

  • Scaling trucks in and out for load weights

  • Insures all railcars’ Inbound and Outbound inspections are completed before filing

  • Provide safety briefing to new drivers, vendors and visitors

    · Requirements and qualification

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Knowledge of fundamentals of Customer Service

  • Dispatch experience

  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and familiar with hours of service requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Power Point

  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times

  • Qualified candidates must be able to pass an extensive background check

  • For safety reasons, must be able to read, write and understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English

    Here are some of the physical requirements of this role

  • Coordinator will work on-site

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time

  • Ability to work, walk, and stand on uneven ballast surfaces for long periods of time
