University of Utah Academic Child and Adolescent Psychiatri in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Division of Pediatric Psychiatry and Behavioral Health in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah is seeking an Academic Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. We are looking for a motivated physician to join our highly integrated medical psychiatry/psychology team providing behavioral health care to youth with chronic medical illnesses. The psychiatrist will provide clinical support to our interdisciplinary Consultation Liaison Service, located in Primary Childrens Hospital (PCH), as well as providing clinical care to youth in our outpatient med-psych Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinic. For those with interest and experience there are growth opportunities for psychiatry consultation within our medical subspecialty clinics. Clinical duties may also include on-call psychiatric coverage for PCH by phone during off hours and weekends, along with weekend coverage on the inpatient unit at Primary Childrens Wasatch Canyons. Additional expectations include educating future health care providers, conducting quality improvement and outcomes research, and engaging in advocacy around the care of youth with chronic medical illness.Qualified candidates must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in General Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Clinical experience in the med-psych setting, with multidisciplinary teams, is strongly preferred. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.The Department and University offers a competitive salary and an unmatched benefits program, including non-contributory retirement contributions of 20.2% of annual salary that vest immediately.
