Intermountain Health Data Analytics Director Consulting in Salt Lake City, Utah

Job Description:

The Data Analytics Director is responsible for the strategic operations for Castell. This includes directing the design, development, and implementation of analytical products and ensuring accurate, timely, and useful data are provided to Castell management to guide decisions for system-wide or division-wide strategies. Ensures that the managers of the teams responsible for the departments / functions identify and adopt best practice standards and that those standards are in line with analytic and business strategies.

This position can be performed remotely with very minimal travel. Intermountain Health maintains employment registration in Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, and Kansas. Other locations may be considered. Currently, we are not hiring remote workers in the following states: CA, HI, IL, PA, RI, WA.

Scope

This is a system-wide role that reports to the Chief Analytics Officer of Castell. Directs multiple analytic departments or functions. Creates and ensures budget is met for areas of accountability.

Job Essentials

  • Develops strategic plan for area(s) of responsibility and executes to that plan. Ensures that the plan is in line with enterprise analytic and Castell strategies.

  • Provides strategic leadership and direction for their departments/functions. Continuously challenges the status quo by evaluating the current processes and practices against industry standards both inside and outside of healthcare.

  • Ensures alignment among analytics products being developed across Castell and leads the development of new and innovative analytics products.

  • Mentors and coaches managers/supervisors/data analysts and ensures that there is an adequate management succession plan in place.

  • Manages business and stakeholder relationships within areas of responsibility. Focuses on solutions and strategies that create win-win situations both inside and outside of the analytics organization.

  • Delivers results for areas of responsibility. This includes goal setting, implementation, and problem/issue resolution.

  • Provides strategic budget oversight for their departments/functions and holds management team accountable for operating within the set operating and capital budget.

  • Stays current with industry analytical methods, trends, and technologies. Actively networks and builds professional relationships throughout Castell and in the community and national user groups and forums.

  • Actively participates in enterprise analytics initiatives and leadership meetings as needed.

  • Supports and encourages Data Analytics in participating and contributing to the enterprise analytics community, projects, and workgroups as appropriate.

  • Responsible for directing the work of employees for area of accountability, including staffing, goal setting, coaching and mentoring, employee recognition and training, and performance management which includes addressing performance concerns through corrective action.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with twelve years of professional experience in an analytics role with project prioritization and management experience and responsibilities to develop and implement system solutions – or five years of management experience and three years of experience leading system-wide analytics projects. (Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.)

  • Five years of experience in a major services organization, with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience. Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices.

  • Eight years of professional experience in an analytics role with project management experience and responsibilities to develop and implement system solutions.

  • Five years of management experience.

  • Three years of experience leading system-wide analytics projects.

  • Demonstrated deep understanding of value-based insurance arrangements (e.g., capitation, shared savings, bundled payments).

  • Experience in a role requiring critical thinking and problem-solving, managing multiple complex projects, bringing projects in on-time, and clearly communicating complex issues and concepts orally and in writing.

  • Experience in a role requiring strong analytical, communication, technical, and project leadership skills.

  • Experience in a role requiring the demonstration of knowledge and expertise needed to develop and implement system-wide processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.

This is an exempt, full-time position with a compensation range that is determined by prior years of relevant experience. In addition to the annual salary, to show our commitment to you and assist with your transition into our organization, we may offer a sign-on and relocation bonus when applicable. With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Board-approved goals.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$65.75 - $101.50
