Job Description:

Volunteers in the Food Pantry can make a difference in the lives of those that need support in order to live their healthiest life possible, to provide support by unloading food from trucks, stocking shelves, interaction and distributing food to the families and patients of Primary Children’s Hospital.

Primary Children’s Food Pantry Volunteer

Volunteers in the Food Pantry can make a difference in the lives of those that need support in order to live their healthiest life possible, to provide support by unloading food from trucks, stocking shelves, interaction and distributing food to the families and patients of Primary Children’s Hospital.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Person volunteering in this area must have a minimum of Grade 12 and should be sincere, compassionate, sensitive to others, can maintain confidentiality, and hold a high standard of integrity.

Availability

  • Expectation of a commitment of 6 months or 80 hours of service

  • Shifts Available Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Greet & assist clients

  • Stocking shelves

  • Packing food bags

  • Maintaining client database

  • Cleaning/Upkeep of Pantry

Skills & Competencies

  • Good communication skills

  • Ability to protect and maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to work with diverse populations

  • Lift and carry 25lbs

Available Shifts

  • Tuesday 1:30pm-4:30pm

  • Friday 10am-1 pm and 1:30pm-4:30pm
