The Movement Disorders Division provides outreach and education programs for people with Parkinsons Disease and their caregivers/family members. The Movement Disorders division seeks a health educator to conduct community outreach and education programs, needs assessments, evaluate programs, provide support to local PD support groups, and assist in facilitating PD and caregiver support groups. The health educator would also be responsible for development of outreach program for Atypical Parkinsonism, and Huntington Disease, this may include support groups, education conferences and other activities determined by needs assessment. This position will work with neurologists, nurses and social workers to determine the programs and activities that will best meet the needs of the community this may include, fall prevention, exercise, stress management and caregiver coping strategies.As a patient-focused organization, the University of Utah Health Sciences exists to enhance the health and well-being of people through patient care, research and education.
