Marathon Petroleum Company LP has an opportunity for a Warehouse Manager position at its refinery in Salt Lake City, Utah. The warehouse Manager reports to the Supply Chain Director.
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for developing warehousing strategies and coordinating warehouse activities in support of the Company’s Salt Lake City Refinery. The position supervises the warehouse, inventory related activities, and manages a team of contract Warehouse Technicians.
Lead Warehouse Technicians to ensure that the expected standards of job performance and safety are met.
Maintain high Health, Environment, Safety & Security (HES&S) standards; lead and participate in activities supporting HES&S commitments. Ensure that employees/Warehouse Technicians/vendors adhere to safe practices and follow requirements in the storage and transportation of materials. Ensure team’s personal safety is a priority.
Provide leadership on daily warehouse operations across onsite facilities (main warehouse, remote warehouse(s), and TAR warehouse) including the management of goods receipts, goods issues, picklists, cycle counting, logistics, quality control/assurance, utilizing the most appropriate materials handling and storage methods/equipment.
Collaborate with the Supply Chain Operations Materials Management group for material master creations/updates/deletions, daily Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), cycle counting, obsolete/surplus material management, repairs/refurbishments, and running reports.
Provide leadership on local material management activities including cycle counting, obsolete/surplus material management, repairs/refurbishments, and running reports.
Lead, develop, identify, and report Cost Savings (Value Capture) in support of departmental goals and strategies.
High collaboration with internal Business Partners (Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, etc.). Seek to collaborate and effectively communicate with Business Partners to develop and maintain robust, sustainable relationships. Be proactive and strategic in understanding organizational needs and implement material management strategies to align with business partner goals.
Ensure compliance with all required Marathon policy, procedures and guidance and all industry and legislative requirements regarding logistics activities. This includes compliance by company personnel and contractors.
Lead, develop, and establish warehouse strategies and organizational goals; develop/track key performance indicators (KPI); utilize root cause analysis to improve performance. Develop short and long-term plans to increase the efficiency and optimization of warehousing functions and inventory; engage workforce in pursuing continuous improvement efforts; strive to achieve best in class status.
Ensure Warehouse Technicians maintain required training and certifications.
Coordinate with Supply Chain Director in developing warehouse budget and maintain financial discipline in adhering to the budget.
Education and Experience:
Education: High School Diploma/ GED Required, BS from an accredited University focused in Supply Chain Management, Business Management / Administration or equivalent work experience required.
Experience: 5+ years’ experience managing or working in and around warehouse operations and/or supply chain related roles preferred.
Computer Proficiencies: In depth knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.
