Aerotek Controls Technician in San Antonio, Texas

Seeking:

Ideal candidate is looking for an entry level position as a controls and automation technician.

  • Maintaining facilities by troubleshooting control systems and automation processes.

  • Associates level degree or certification in automation engineering or controls electronics.

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking and scheduling maintenance tasks.

  • Knowledge of OSHA and industry safety regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on control systems and automation equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Troubleshoot and repair control system components such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other automation devices.

  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations to design, implement, and modify control systems and automation solutions to improve performance and stay current on technological advancements.

  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify and address potential issues before they cause downtime.

  • Assist in the installation, startup, and commissioning of new control systems.

  • Document maintenance activities, including equipment repairs, parts usage, and preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Hands on experience with troubleshooting tools and techniques, such as electrical test equipment, software diagnostics, and system analysis.

  • Train and mentor other maintenance and operation personnel on control system operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical components such as motors, sensors, limit switches, relays, and control systems for operation and safety.
