Position Summary

The Manager, End User Computing is responsible for managing the lifecycle of end user devices and spaces including mobile phones, Teams meeting rooms, enterprise printing, and virtual desktops. This role is focused on the end user experience and driving transformation through their products ensuring high user satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in improving our end user’s digital experience through upskilling teams, automating processes, and utilizing analytics to drive transformation. The candidate should understand how to utilize DEX tools and have a proven track record in leading teams with a user centric mindset.

Accountable for business results primarily achieved through the work of others. Manages staff, sets direction, and deploys resources. Has responsibility for employee development, performance reviews, pay reviews, and staffing decisions. Accountable for business, functional or operational areas, processes, or programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure assignments are completed in accordance with established guidelines and advice on conflicting priorities.

  • Understands the overall organizational vision and collaborates with management to set team goals that translate into actionable plans at the team level. Maintains a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement and leads the team through periods of change and transformation.

  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to identify technology needs and opportunities and works with internal IT groups to provide effective solutions to address business needs. Develops continuous improvement techniques. Collaborates with Architect on roadmap using data, analytics and trending for decision making.

  • Ensures the availability, reliability, and security of technology systems, implementing appropriate measures to protect sensitive information and prevent disruptions.

  • Plan, resource, and provides direction and technical leadership for low- to medium-complexity IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Manages the department project portfolio effectively through governance and planning processes.

  • Assists in the development and management of the department budget, tracking expenses, and ensures that resources are allocated effectively to meet business requirements.

  • Manage Service Level Agreements and Experience Level Agreements with vendors and 3rd party contractors.

  • Stays abreast of the latest technology trends, industry advancements, and regulatory changes, and makes recommendations for adopting new technologies to improve operational efficiency.

  • Assesses and identifies technology needs and opportunities, making recommendations for system enhancements, upgrades, or replacements. Continuously seeks opportunities to optimize processes and workflows.

  • Partners with leadership to develop strong business cases for technology initiatives.

  • Assists in the development of IT policies, procedures, and standards that are in line with area of responsibility and industry standards. Ensures compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Responsible for recruitment, development, retention, performance management of talent to meet needs of the business.

  • Continuously optimizes and automates the lifecycle of the devices, DaaS and spaces used by our employees, optimizing, and measuring their digital experience utilizing DEX scoring methods.

  • Assesses the needs and preferences of employee personas regarding their digital tools, devices, platforms, and processes. Responsible for ensuring end users have a positive and productive experience with the digital devices and the spaces they use.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other computer-related degree required.

  • 10+ years of diversified IT experience required.

  • 4+ years of experience leading professional staff required.

  • 2+ years experience with running Agile teams preferred

  • 2+ years experience in vendor negotiations and agreements preferred

  • Experience with cost management and total cost per user calculations with a passion for continuous improvement

  • Experience with DEX (Digital Employee Experience) concepts and tooling preferred

  • Experience with user journey mapping preferred
