The Universal Media team seeks a self-starting, energetic, back-end software engineer who is not afraid to question assumptions as they build large-scale, data-driven systems. Our team focuses on sophisticated services and tools that powers the ever changing content streaming ecosystem. Our software contributes to the success of Apple TV+, Apple TV Channels, Live Sports streaming and streaming partner integrations. Our back-end data services supports TV App experiences on platforms like tvOS, iOS, MacOS and third party TVs. We are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of how to model data, design extensible architecture, and develop large scale software platforms. Individual who love challenges, tackling problems with imaginative solutions and works well in collaborative environments will find this opportunity fulfilling.

Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience in a professional hands on software development position
Working experience with Java
Experience with object-oriented design principles
Experience with backend system design
Experience in data modeling such as RDMS or NoSQL
Passion to learn new technologies
Ability to work collaboratively with other team members
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of search technologies (ex. Solr, Lucene, Elastic Search) is a plusML and/or LLM experience is preferred but not a requirement

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
