Job Description
A top employer in the electric vehicle and energy storage industry is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Engineering Technician, Cell Assembly to join their manufacturing team. In this critical role, you will support the production of high-performance battery cells designed for electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
SOME RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CELL ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Machine operation, Laser welding, resistance welding, ultrasonic welding, dimensional data gathering, E-fill (electrolyte filling for liquid introduction into the cell), and more.
Execute cell assembly processes, including cell stacking, electrolyte filling, sealing, and quality inspection, to ensure precision and adherence to specifications.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot equipment, optimize assembly workflows, and implement process enhancements.
Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of cell assembly machinery to maximize uptime and efficiency.
Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols, cleanliness standards, and quality control measures.
Adapt to evolving production demands, including occasional overtime and weekend shifts, to meet critical deadlines.
Participate in continuous training to stay current with advancements in battery technology and manufacturing techniques.
SCHEDULE (2nd Shift):
Monday - Friday
Shift: 2:00 - 2:30 PM PST start time
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
Minimal PPE other than steel toe shoes/boots and safety glasses (shoes not provided)
This is a contract position with potential to extend or convert, but no guarantee.

Skills and Requirements
4+ years of experience in a mechanical-oriented role, such as an engineering technician, senior operator, or similar positions, working with complex machines and tools.
Hands-on experience and comprehensive knowledge of product design and root cause analysis, collaborating with engineering to modify, set up, operate, diagnose issues, and troubleshoot automated equipment.
Experience in setting up and operating equipment and machines using hand tools. - Familiarity with technical automation and hands-on assembly.
Mechanical background, particularly with nuts and bolts.
Data collection and mechanical skills will be advantageous. null
