CP Manufacturing Panel shop supervisor in San Diego, California

CP Manufacturing, a leading company in the recycling and material recovery industry, is seeking a talented UL 508A Panel shop supervisor. This role involves managing work processes to enhance efficiency, delegating departmental tasks, and providing both administrative and hands-on technical training. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader capable of developing new procedures, guiding the team towards meeting targets, and providing comprehensive technical support to ensure smooth and efficient shop operations.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of area work processes, leading the effort to develop new procedures as needed.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities for the department.
  • Provide administrative and technical training for the employees.
  • Provide technical assistance; hands-on when required.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and shop personnel to supply adequate information (drawings, sketches, descriptions, etc.) to perform requested work.
  • Build and wire industrial control panels, mount items, run wiring, modify panel structures, wire automated equipment, install panels and instruments on skids, run conduit and wiring to panels and instruments, and make terminations.
  • Read electrical wiring and layout prints.
  • Work at a pace to meet productivity and quality targets.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and make recommendations for solutions. Provide general technical support.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse supervisor to ensure all supplies are stocked appropriately .

Required Competencies:

  • 4-5 years experience fabricating (expertise in industrial electrical panel assemblies and control systems).
  • Minimum of 3 years minimum experience in a leadership role supervising or managing a team.
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency to read, understand, and, markup wiring diagrams, drawings, bills and material, quality sheets, and shipping documentation.
  • Comfortable participating in and leading weekly production meetings with upper management.
  • Valid drivers license and pass drivers health screening.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, with intermediate or higher Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe acrobat.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and organizations skills

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday: 7:30am to 4:00pm
