Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add a Staff Electronics Engineer – Operations Development Lead to our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA . This position will be in our Avionics Integration Organization supporting the MQ-4C Triton Program.
This is a position within the Triton Mission Systems Integrated Product Team (MS IPT) is responsible for developing the mission payloads on the Triton air vehicle and ground segments. The selected candidate will lead the Operations Development team which is responsible for the horizontal technical integration within the MS IPT.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee day to day program execution and staffing for Development team including ensuring all issues, tasks, and workload are communicated and coordinated
Under minimal direction, collaborate with Responsible Engineers to develop system-level approaches to resolve technical issues
Coordinate adequate MS IPT personnel support for supplier sites and operational sites
Coordinate and submit proposal estimates and standardize the estimating process for the IPT
Standardize and manage critical processes performed within the IPT, such as Risk & Opportunity Management, drawing/document release, Engineering Investigations, and borrow/payback
Collaborate across the IPT to document technical processes and/or work instructions as needed to standardize work across the MS IPT
Develop process metrics and utilize trend analysis to help the IPT work more efficiently
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Once in role, this position could offer a hybrid work environment. Scheduled telework days are approved at manager's discretion. This role requires the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related engineering experience.
Experience in planning staffing requirements and EVM techniques
Experience in Risk Management
Demonstrated experience in solving technical problems
Demonstrated experience with turning strategies into actionable plans
Active, in-Scope DoD Secret clearance.
This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience on Triton, RQ4, or Strike programs
Experience leading a team of engineers
Experience on development, production, and sustainment programs
Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably at an Operational or forward site
Strong communication skills and ability to engage various levels of the technical team
Salary Range: $165,000 - $247,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
