Defense Commissary Agency Supervisory Store Associate in San Diego, California

Summary This position serves as the second line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store. The incumbent is fully responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations. Responsibilities Serves as a first line supervisor for Store Associates. Directs the following work in multiple areas of the commissary: - Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out and cash control. - Non-perishable stock control including transporting item and stocking shelves. - Meat display and case stocking. - Produce inspection display and rotation. - Accounts maintenance, supply and computer operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position (general experience) equivalent to the GS-07 level. Examples of specialized experience: Plans, directs or assigns work for employees. Knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store in order to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on the job training for workers. Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations. Physical requirements: (1) Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying of commissary products weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance; heavier items are moved with assistance from other workers or by using weight-handling equipment. (2) Prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and/or climbing. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.
