Job Summary
Amentum is actively seeking a Hydraulics and Piping Junior Engineer to work in Code 254 at SWRMC. The position is located at SWRMC in San Diego, CA.Essential Responsibilities:
Develop troubleshooting plans for hydraulic controllers and piping systems
Verify compliance with systems engineering principles, integration approaches, and accepted Department of the Navy maintenance program fundamentals
Support engineering evaluations of hydraulic and freshwater control systems onboard ships and submarines
Review and evaluate work specifications as requested by the NSA project manager based on technical risk and the quality management plan for the assigned availability
Coordinate with shipboard and waterfront personnel to effect repairs to subject systems.
Will require working onboard ships at times
Conduct maintenance of shipboard hydraulic systems and controllers onboard U.S. Navy ships
Prepare all required products including certification PowerPoint, CHENG certification memos, and other supporting documents
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree with one (1) year of hands-on, technical experience that should include repairing and maintaining mechanical systems and/or mecha/electric systems. This time could be met with extracurricular work before, during or after college.
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs
Position may require travel
Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a secret security clearance
U.S. citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering major
Experience providing engineering services to U.S. Navy or in shipyards
Experience with modern Navy Ship systems (PLCs, electrical controllers, DDG-51, DDG-1000, LCS).
Needs to be flexible and a rapid learner. SECRET clearance preferred
