Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience in program management.

  • Experience in Software Development Life Cycle and Software User Interface.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience working across multiple engineering teams across the organization.

  • Experience coordinating programs from idea to landing.

  • Experience with Operating Systems.

  • Ability to present to leadership, provide technical details, and have discussions with engineers.

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

In this role, you'll partner with Engineering, Product, UX designers, and other Technical Program Managers to provide features and UI foundations for the Core UI of Chrome OS. You'll play a role in defining the team's roadmap and implementing tools and processes that provide visibility to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, improve engineering velocity, and ensure successful collaboration as the team grows internally and externally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.

  • Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables, and contribute to decisions.

  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.

  • Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, product managers, designers, and other Technical Program Managers in executing programs from concept to launch, planning, tracking progress, identifying issues, and driving issue resolution.

  • Design processes and tools to increase the velocity of engineering work and the reliability of product launches.
