Description
We are in search of a competent Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a location in San Leandro, California. This role primarily involves the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various heavy equipment. The selected candidate will be required to demonstrate a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Equipment Mechanic Responsibilities:
Travel to clients’ location
Inspecting trucks, material handling equipment for proper performance, and all safety features.
Complete the inspection form on a tablet & submit it for processing (each unit).
Diagnosing faults using a voltmeter.
Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts as needed.
Repairing damaged equipment.
Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles. NOTE: All equipment must be clean, room ready, and cannot have excessive lube
Cleaning and servicing machine attachments like winches, pulleys, and attachments.
Performing major repair work when necessary.
Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.
Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
Ability to inspect equipment storage cabinets.
Requirements
Equipment Mechanic Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Certification as a heavy equipment mechanic or documented experience.
Understanding of volt & resistance testing techniques.
Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds to shoulder height.
Extensive knowledge of hydraulics and electronics.
Ability to work after-hours if required.
Good communication skills.
Ability to use essential MS Office Skills
You must have essential hand tools such as metric wrenches and sockets, Allen wrenches, players, wire scouters, a bolt meter, a flashlight, and a hammer.
