Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Gas and Diesel Mechanic to maintain and service our diverse fleet of vehicles and medium-duty construction equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Expertise in repairing and diagnosing gas and diesel engines, 12-volt electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and drum and disc brake systems is essential. We are looking for a collaborative team player with excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities. This is a full-time opportunity.
Responsibilities
Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues
Repair, maintain, and upgrade automotive and electronic systems
Conduct routine maintenance work aiming at vehicle functionality and longevity
Identify, repair, or replace broken or dysfunctional parts as required
Provide accurate estimates for repair or maintenance jobs
Keep records of services performed and record parts consumed
Order parts as required
Maintain vehicles and tools in good condition
Determine required maintenance on vehicles and perform as needed
Follow safety protocols and adhere to industry standards to maintain a safe work environment
Essential Skills
Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles
Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods (e.g., Scan Tool / Mitchel etc.)
Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment
Excellent physical condition
Valid CA driver’s license and good driving record
Full set of automotive tools required
Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Auto and Diesel Mechanic
Expertise in hydraulics systems, diagnostics and repairs, 12-volt electrical systems, drum and disc brake systems, and tire rotation

Work Environment
This position is based primarily in the shop, where you will perform full repairs and preventative maintenance, mainly indoors. Occasionally, you may be required to service vehicles in the field. The fleet consists of a variety of vehicles, including Audis, Mercedes, Rolls Royce, Prius, Honda, and Dodge trucks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Marcos, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
