POSITION POSTING

TITLE:    Medical Assistant -- Float at MHW and Peck

DEPARTMENT:   Healthcare Practice

STATUS:  Full Time: 32 hours per week 

HOURS:  Day shift. However, position may require evening and weekend hours. Hours may be variable to meet office/patient needs. Location may be variable. Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands.

QUALIFICATIONS/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education/Experience
  2. High School Graduate or equivalency, required.
  3. Completion of a formal MA education program or equivalent required.
  4. Previous Medical Assistant clinical experience in a Primary Care Physician office, or equivalent, required.
  5. 1 year previous experience administering medications and child immunizations, preferred.
  6. Previous experience working with general public, required.
  7. Computer skills required.

  8. Previous experience in medical professional billing, coding, insurance verification, desired.

     

  9. Licensure/Certification

  10. Certification as Medical Assistant, or equivalent, required within 3 months of hire.

  11. Current BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

ROLE/POSITION DEFINITION:

Responsible for the direct care of patients presenting themselves in an office, ambulatory setting.  Involved in predominately clinical services with some clerical responsibilities. Cooperates with all members of the health team to meet total patient needs.
